The document management service industry is in a state of change. Many back-file conversion projects are coming to an end, new business is becoming much harder to find, and price competition is fierce. Service providers are seeking to add value to day-forward scanning, while reducing labor costs with automated data capture and higher performance scanning technology.
For this report, we surveyed the business health of the document services and equipment channel, prospects for 2014, and the most and least attractive vertical markets. We look at the changes to the nature of services provided, and the choices being made for the future. We also present a number of strategic recommendations.
