FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AIIM and ICRM Partner to Strengthen Career Paths for Records and Information Professionals

Silver Spring, MD – The Association for Intelligent Information Management (AIIM) and Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) announced a new partnership. The agreement gives members of both organizations more direct access to each other's certifications, events, and professional resources.

Records and information management professionals often work across both associations over the course of a career, and this partnership is designed to help those members. Through the partnership, AIIM will promote ICRM's CRM and CRA certifications to its community and ICRM will promote AIIM's Certified Information Professional (CIP) credential and events to its members. Both organizations will offer continuing education credit for the other's educational programs, pending approval.

The two organizations will also raise each other's visibility. AIIM will feature the ICRM logo and partnership status on its partner webpage, list ICRM among its event partners, and recognize ICRM as an affiliate partner in relevant communications. ICRM will feature the AIIM logo in its newsletter and recognize AIIM as a strategic partner in its own communications. Both organizations will promote the partnership through social media and newsletters.

Members will see a direct financial benefit as well. AIIM will offer a 20 percent discount on membership dues to active ICRM members, and ICRM will offer a 50 percent discount on certification application fees to active AIIM members.

"This partnership gives our members a clearer path between two credentials, but it's really an avenue for collaboration and support," said Tori Miller Liu, President and CEO of AIIM. "AIIM and ICRM are working toward the same goals: advancing records and information management practice and elevating the practitioners who do this work every day."

"This partnership puts CRM and CRA credentials in front of a broader community of information professionals, and gives them a real way to build a records management foundation into their own practice," said Wendy McLain, MLIS, CRM, President of ICRM.

The Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) is an international certifying organization of and for professional records and information managers.
