Jason Cassidy of Shinydocs will serve as Board Chair, with Chris McNulty of Synozur as Vice Chair and Chair-Elect, and Candace McCabe of Walmart, Inc. as Treasurer. Rikkert Engels of Xillio continues serving the Board of Directors as Immediate Past Chair.
The 2026 Board of Directors includes returning and new members who bring diverse expertise across enterprise information management, AI governance, and digital transformation:
"I want to express my deepest gratitude to our outgoing board members – Alyssa Blackburn, Tim Brady, Rob Gerbrandt, Karen Hobert, Alan Pelz-Sharpe, David Quackenbush, and Marko Sillanpaa," said Cassidy. "Their leadership during a transformational period has been extraordinary. They were instrumental helping to stabilize and strengthen AIIM's finances, redesigning our annual event, and re-envisioning AIIM's strategy."
Cassidy especially recognized the contributions of Karen Hobert, who concludes her service as Immediate Past Chair. "Karen served on the selection committee for Tori, our new CEO, and guided AIIM through a period of great transformation, first as an officer and then as Chair. Her steady leadership during this critical time has been invaluable. The contributions of all our outgoing board members to this association and industry are immeasurable, and they have positioned us perfectly for the work ahead."
Under the new board's leadership, AIIM is embracing an ambitious vision for the future of the profession. "Our Vision 2030 confirms AIIM as the leading association for Information Professionals ensuring data readiness for AI and Innovation," said Cassidy. "This new board is ready to push hard to ensure this success."
"We are fortunate to have such exceptional leaders guiding AIIM into this next chapter," said Tori Miller Liu, CIP, AIIM President & CEO. "The transition comes as organizations worldwide recognize the critical importance of information professionals in enabling successful AI adoption."
The newly constituted board will guide AIIM's strategic initiatives, including the upcoming AI+IM Global Summit 2026 in Baltimore (April 28-30), educational programs, updates to the Certified Information Professional exam, and community development efforts that support information professionals in their expanding role as data curators and AI enablers.
