AIIM Announces Keynote Speakers for the AI+IM Global Summit 2026
Industry-leading experts Oliver Patel and Eryn Peters to deliver opening and closing keynotes at premier event for information management professionals
SILVER SPRING, MD, USA — The Association for Intelligent Information Management announced he keynote speakers for the AI+IM Global Summit 2026, being held April 28-30 in Baltimore, Maryland, USA.
Oliver Patel, Head of Enterprise AI Governance at AstraZeneca, will deliver the opening keynote, while Eryn Peters, future of work evangelist and AI transformation strategist, will close the summit.
The two-and-a-half-day event is for information professionals working with unstructured data and preparing it for AI—whether that means leading digital transformation, managing compliance and governance, optimizing content systems, or implementing AI-driven operations.
Patel's opening keynote, "Frontier Challenges in Enterprise AI Governance: The Role of Information Management Leaders," addresses the evolving regulatory landscape—from the EU AI Act to ISO 42001—and presents a framework for implementing enterprise AI governance. Drawing on his experience developing governance frameworks for 95,000 employees at AstraZeneca, Patel will examine how AI governance differs from traditional information and data governance and discuss how information management functions can contribute to responsible AI implementation.
Peters closes the summit with "The Accountability Advantage: Building Strategic Influence in the AI Era," focusing on how information management professionals can build influence within their organizations during a period of significant change. Attendees will receive the 2030 IM Leader Framework and guidance on initiating conversations with HR, legal, and technical teams.
"Information management practitioners are uniquely positioned to ensure accurate, responsible, and trusted data for AI," said Tori Miller Liu, President and CEO of AIIM. "They're already playing a major role in AI governance and implementation. These keynotes will give our attendees both the knowledge framework and the practical playbook they need to lead with confidence."
Beyond Traditional Conference Formats
The AI+IM Global Summit is designed for active learning through hands-on workshops, live demonstrations, and facilitated peer discussions. Each session encourages participation and collaboration, whether attendees are evaluating AI tools, solving challenges in small groups, or exchanging ideas in interactive panels.
Central to the summit experience are Cohorts—small, pre-assigned groups of like-minded peers that support deeper learning and meaningful networking before, during, and after the event. These groups provide a space to exchange ideas, crowdsource solutions, and refine learning goals with others who share similar challenges. Cohorts are assigned on a first-come basis, with early registrants having the best opportunity to be matched with groups aligned to their interests or industry.
