The AIIM Awards Program recognizes the leaders, the innovators, and the dedicated members of our community. Award nominees test the boundaries of our industry, look to the future, respect the past, take risks, serve our profession, and welcome diversity of thought. AIIM recognizes excellence in the intelligent information management industry with two prestigious awards:
- The Award of Merit was established in 1954 and is the highest award the association can bestow. It recognizes lifetime achievement.
- Established in 1963, the Company of Fellows honors those individuals in the association who merit recognition and distinction for their outstanding contributions to the intelligent information management industry. Each award is numbered and assigned in perpetuity. There are no more than four Fellowships awarded per year.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for enrollment in the Company of Fellows, each nominee must:
- Have been a Professional Member of the Association for at least five (5) years prior to nomination, or have served as Chair of the Board of Directors;
- Be nominated by a current member of the Company of Fellows;
- Be known to be of good character and reputation;
- Have provided exceptional value to the industry through long service to the Association;
- Have demonstrated notable contributions to the IIM industry over the immediately preceding five (5) years;
- Have up to three letters of support from individuals other than the Fellow making the nomination. None of these individuals should be co-workers, or on the Award Selection Committee;
- No member of the Board of Directors can receive an Association award during his/her tenure on the Board.
- Members of the Board cannot make nominations for awards.
To be eligible for The Award of Merit, each nominee must:
- Have been enrolled in the Company of Fellows for at least five (5) years prior to nomination;
- Be nominated by a current member of the Company of Fellows;
- Have been an exemplary Fellow and have demonstrated exceptional leadership and contribution to the Association;
- Have made widely recognized contributions which have materially benefitted the growth of the IIM industry, such as through new fields of applications, publications, education, or volunteerism;
- Have up to three letters of support from individuals other than the Fellow making the nomination. None of these individuals should be co-workers, or on the Award Selection Committee;
- Awards candidates cannot nominate themselves;
- No member of the Board of Directors can receive an Association award during his/her tenure on the Board;
- Members of the Board cannot make nominations for awards.

All Nominations must be submitted by February 24, 2025.
Applications for both awards are reviewed by a volunteer Awards Committee, appointed by the AIIM Board of Directors. The AIIM Board of Directors approves all award recipients.

Awards Presentation
Awards will be presented, in-person during the AI+IM Global Summit, being held March 31-April 2 in Atlanta, Georgia. Award Recipients will be invited to the Company of Fellows Breakfast, 8:00-9:00 a.m. on April 1. The Awards Ceremony will be held on April 1, 9:00-9:15 a.m. on the mainstage.
