The long term impact of Britain leaving the EU is unknown and some assume that Brexit means they can ignore the new EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) requirements altogether. According to the Information Commissioner’s Office, "the underlying reality on which policy is based has not changed all that much" since the Brexit vote. "Once implemented in the EU, the GDPR will be relevant for many organisations in the UK – most obviously those operating internationally."
