This week brings another great episode of AIIM On Air, where we continue to explore the challenges, opportunities, and technologies that are driving digital transformation today.
I was pleased to speak with Regina Martin, Records Manager at Howard County Government from Columbia, Maryland, in this episode. I caught up with Regina at the AIIM20 conference in Dallas earlier this year. We discuss the challenges of being a records manager in a local government operation. First, Regina and her team still work with a lot of paper. In fact, they scan over 1 million pages of paper every year; and this is on top of also managing a variety of electronic files.
But perhaps most interesting is to hear Regina describe how Howard County is now ingesting audio files from 911 calls, and how those are records. She describes some of the challenges there.
Rikkert Engles joins the show as well. Rikkert is not new to AIIM On Air; he’s been with us before, and this time shares more perspective and advice. Rikkert is a member of the AIIM leadership council and CEO and Founder of Xillio based in the Netherlands. Currently, he’s focused on helping folks migrate to and leverage the Microsoft Teams environment.
What trends should we watch for as we bring 2020 to a close? Rikkert says that the launch of Microsoft Cortex in Office 365 is perhaps the most important development this year.
