Where do you see the information management industry in 5 years? What do you see as the next big impact?
I see decisions being made based on data and analytics rather than intuition or ad hoc information. This can only be done if the right data is collected and analyzed.

What questions are you asked the most by your colleagues?
How much does it cost to store a box?

What are three things you’ve told yourself that kept you going during your darkest hour?
I can make a difference in how the IT organization operates in terms of content management.

I can make peoples lives easier (because they can find things).

I can automate processes to some extent.

Would you quit your job if you won the lottery, even if you loved your current position?
I guess that depends on how big the lottery was. I am inclined to keep working unless I had other avenues that interest me.

What makes you excited about Mondays?
For whatever reason, Monday's seem to have fewer meetings than the remainder of the week.

What do you dread most about going to work?
The commute of thirty miles one way.

Who has been your mentor in your working life, and what did they do/say that had the biggest impact on your reasoning?
One of my former bosses always listened and supported where I was headed in terms of a career and provided me challenging assignments (not over challenging) to help me advance.

Tell me about a project that forced you to be innovative and creative.
Technology programs tend to drive innovation and creativity. Although Records Management can be mundane, the use of analytics has made it more interesting, especially since I was a systems analyst in a prior life.

What do you do for fun?
I run (with my wife and daughter) a bed and breakfast on the side. That's my fun away from work.

Make your plans to attend The AIIM Conference and gain access to three days of thought-provoking sessions geared to help your overcome your information management challenges.
