[Podcast] Think Beyond the Bucket

AIIM on Air

Organizations today have an overwhelming amount of data to manage. AIIM members tell us that they expect the amount of information coming into their organizations to grow by as much as 4.5 times in the next coming months...and this will include everything from scanned images, to audio and video files, and everything in-between. At times it may seem like managing these overflowing buckets is a losing proposition. But my guest in this week’s episode of AIIM On Air suggests that we “think beyond the bucket” when it comes to information management success.

Jason Cassidy, Founder and CEO of Shinydocs, returns to the show to discuss the current challenges and opportunities in information management today. First and foremost, Jason says, is that “everything must be managed.” But to do that requires that organizations “move from a management mindset to a leadership mindset by focusing on information and data first instead of fixating on the technology or the “buckets” where we put information.

Listen as we explore this data-first approach, especially as they are applied in the real world. Jason talks about the efforts with Shinydocs and CIBC, working to evaluate, optimize, and manage large volumes of data associated with onboarding acquired companies. They’ve found a way to reduce unnecessary data by up to 40% while identifying the information that is of the most value to organizational performance, especially as CIBC works to assimilate these new companies into the organization.

Jason is a member of the AIIM Leadership Council and an expert at optimizing data and systems for improved organizational performance. His award-winning solutions are transforming the digital landscape. Listen to his interview here.
