[Podcast] Where can I find, connect, and learn from other Information Professionals?

AIIM Community  |  AIIM on Air

Connecting with peers in your industry can be one of the most valuable uses of your time in terms of return – both on a business and personal level. It’s a great way to keep up-to-date on industry news and trends, thought-leadership, and special events. But, it’s also a great way to share knowledge, help or be helped with a project, and make new friends.

But where do you go if you want to connect with like-minded information professionals? Conferences are a great place to connect in-person, but those looking for something virtual should check out AIIM’s Online Community Discussion forum. This is the spot that over 6,000 members of the AIIM Community go to connect.

On this episode of the AIIM on Air Podcast, Kevin Crane met up with the authors of two of the most popular discussion threads happening on the forum right now.

Master’s Thesis on Retention and Knowledge Management:

Daniel Anderson, a recent graduate from the University of North Carolina School of Information and Library Sciences, shared his master’s thesis on retention and knowledge management to the community, and it sparked a fascinating discussion. Kevin chats with Daniel to find out more about his thesis, the subject areas he explored, and his findings.

Best Practices for Implementing an Electronic and Document Management System:

Connie Prendergast, Records Management Clerk for Flagstaff County in Alberta Canada, has also been participating in some lively discussion on the AIIM Community Forum. Kevin asks her to share her advice and the best practices she learned implementing an electronic records and document management system recently.
